Dan Fender Heavy Duty Marine Fenders
Dan Fender Heavy Duty fenders are substantial inflatable marine fenders developed for vessels working in demanding conditions. They are suitable for commercial craft, fishing boats, workboats, aquaculture operations, harbour vessels and larger leisure boats requiring stronger hull protection than a standard lightweight fender.
The strong, flexible PVC body absorbs contact between the vessel and pontoons, harbour walls, quays or neighbouring boats. Solid, injection-moulded rope holds at both ends provide secure attachment points and allow the fender to be suspended vertically or rigged horizontally. Each fender is fitted with an inflation valve and is leak-tested during manufacture.

Use and attachment
Select a size that provides sufficient separation between the hull and the berth. Attach a suitable fender line through one of the reinforced rope holds and secure it to a strong point on the vessel, such as a rail, cleat or approved fender attachment point. Position the fender at the part of the hull most likely to contact the berth. Several fenders should be spaced along the vessel when mooring, with additional protection placed near the bow, stern or widest section where required. The rope holds are for suspending the fender and must not be used as towing or mooring points.
Inflation and delivery
These fenders are normally held in stock and supplied uninflated, which reduces the amount of storage space required and helps control courier charges. They can be inflated using a compressor air gun fitted with a tapered rubber cone inflation nozzle. Inflate gradually until the body is properly formed but still able to compress under hand pressure. Do not overinflate.
We can inflate the fender before dispatch if required. An additional charge may apply because an inflated fender occupies considerably more courier space, particularly in the larger sizes. Please telephone us before ordering if you require an inflated fender or need delivery advice.
