The original Dan-Fender FenderStep is a practical boarding aid and boat fender in one. Made in Denmark from strong marine-grade PVC, it provides a stable step when getting on or off your vessel while also protecting the hull from contact with a pontoon, quay or another boat.
It is particularly useful where modern boats have high topsides, when boarding from a dinghy, or when a conventional boarding ladder would be awkward to deploy or could mark the hull. The FenderStep can be rigged before entering the marina, giving crew and passengers a more controlled step ashore.
The FenderStep is fitted with solid, moulded rope holds to provide secure attachment points. It has a maximum recommended load of 100 kg and must be rigged using two separate strong points. Use rope of at least 10 mm diameter and never attach both lines to the same rope hold.

To reduce storage space and courier costs, FenderSteps are supplied uninflated. They can be inflated easily at home, on the pontoon or aboard your vessel using a standard air compressor fitted with an air-blowing pistol and a tapered inflation nozzle, or with a Dan-Fender hand pump.
For pumps that do not accept the valve directly, use a cone shaped inflation adaptor. This screws into the fender’s metal valve and allows a suitable pump or tapered nozzle to be connected. Do not over-inflate the FenderStep, as excessive pressure can deform the PVC and reduce its working life.
We can inflate your FenderStep before dispatch if required. This is available at additional cost because an inflated product requires a larger courier consignment. Please contact us before ordering for a delivery quote.
