Cast Iron Trinity House style sinkers are stocked from 500kgs to 5000ks, they have a dish-shaped underbody to provide additional suction to the sea bed together with a heavy-duty steel eye to provide a secure attachment point for the chain.
This type of sinkers is used by Trinity House, Harbour Authorities, Navigation Buoy manufacturers and Mooring Professionals throughout the world.
Railway Wheel Sinkers
We first started adapting scrap railway wheels for use as mooring use over 20 years ago, they generally weigh between 250 and 300kgs and can be stacked to increase weight if required. These wheels have a concave underside which increases holding power.
If required we can weld a short length of heavy chain to the centre of the wheel via a 40mm cross-section of round steel, the heavy chain will drastically reduce the snatch effect which causes additional wear on riser chain and bow fittings.
